Welcome to the DPL...

Welcome to the Damsel Preservation League or "DPL" for short. Contained herein, you'll find a multitude of damsels of all ages worthy of preservation, as well as many links to current artists & writers of the DID genre, and many old-school favourites. Although this is basically a research type blog, there may be some occasional "mature" themed comics so, beware of this. Also this blog & is moderated to keep the spam to a minimum. The majority of the images are ones I've personally "rebuilt" from either my own collection or scans found elsewhere on the 'net. Any applicable copyrights belong to the owners and I make no money from them. Also note that this blog is still a work in progress and will be added to as I continue along...

Relatively Speaking

Here's the Dot Polka back-up story for the Richie Rich #63 comic I have. As a lot of you older kids have read in the past, Dot has/had many weird aunts and uncles. Here, she is introduced to her Auntie Sprise, who seems to enjoy scaring the crap out of people, especially poor Dot. But then, Dot was no angel herself, as panel 5 on the last page shows. Looks like she's about to pee herself from laughing so hard! At any rate, her crazy aunt decides maybe moving to Dot's neighbourhood isn't such a good idea, after all. Sure, she can dish it out but she can't take it, wot?

As a bonus (and because this story was only a 5-pager), here's a drawing I did for my now defunct DeviantART page, titled "Dots of Doom". In it all those "dots" Dot has stolen over the years (yes, I say "stolen"), finally get back at her! If you've ever read any of Dot's older books, you'll note that she spares nothing when it comes to getting or making dots, including major vandalism! You could consider this an early comic form of OCD.
