Welcome to the DPL...

Welcome to the Damsel Preservation League or "DPL" for short. Contained herein, you'll find a multitude of damsels of all ages worthy of preservation, as well as many links to current artists & writers of the DID genre, and many old-school favourites. Although this is basically a research type blog, there may be some occasional "mature" themed comics so, beware of this. Also this blog & is moderated to keep the spam to a minimum. The majority of the images are ones I've personally "rebuilt" from either my own collection or scans found elsewhere on the 'net. Any applicable copyrights belong to the owners and I make no money from them. Also note that this blog is still a work in progress and will be added to as I continue along...

Hen-pecked Pt.1

From Mary Marvel #28 (Fawcett September, 1948) comes this rather brutal tale of a woman criminal master-mind known as the "Hen". Although there was plenty of violence in the Mary Marvel tales, this one stands out in my mind as the most brutal. You name it, it's GOT it! From strangulation and hypnotic gassing to bondage, bombs and out-right, cold-blooded murder! The Hen takes no prisoners and would rather "off" her cronies than share any of the boodle with them. I'm posting this in two parts, as it's an eleven-pager but, I wanted to get in some extra detail panels (poor that they are...) The source materiel was culled from the DCM and was in pretty bad shape so, these pages here are the best I could manage to rebuild upon. Pay particularly close attention to the second detail panel below. It contains a triple bondage set-up of the girls working in the beauty salon. They factor in to a quadruple murder attempt(!) later on in part two...

To clarify: the Hen's reference to the "cotton in the nose" is so her minions won't breathe in the hypnotic gas she creates to induce her victim...

As usual, the end of the chapter is a "cliff-hanger" set-up. You'll have to wait until week next to see the rest of the story (assuming some of you have read this in the past, you won't mind the wait...)

...to be continued...
