Welcome to the DPL...

Welcome to the Damsel Preservation League or "DPL" for short. Contained herein, you'll find a multitude of damsels of all ages worthy of preservation, as well as many links to current artists & writers of the DID genre, and many old-school favourites. Although this is basically a research type blog, there may be some occasional "mature" themed comics so, beware of this. Also this blog & is moderated to keep the spam to a minimum. The majority of the images are ones I've personally "rebuilt" from either my own collection or scans found elsewhere on the 'net. Any applicable copyrights belong to the owners and I make no money from them. Also note that this blog is still a work in progress and will be added to as I continue along...

Good Bondage Housekeeping 1

Amongst the piles of old magazines, comics and newsprint that form the bulk of my paper collection, I have a few DID-themed adverts. Most of them are from an era that most would like to forget but, I feel it necessary to include them in the DPL's archive. Such a one is the advert below from the September, 1947 issue of Good Housekeeping. The advert is for an aluminum pressure-cooker made by Wear-Ever. By to-day's standards this advert would be considered "politically incorrect". You can obviously guess why.

I am always amazed at what was considered acceptable in the "old day" as compared to today
That said , I thought this image was clever and fun and rather well done
Thank you for posting

Heh, from some of the adverts I've seen recently, I find it hard to accept some of them now :O But then I guess Madison Ave. isn't what it used to be :[
