Welcome to the DPL...

Welcome to the Damsel Preservation League or "DPL" for short. Contained herein, you'll find a multitude of damsels of all ages worthy of preservation, as well as many links to current artists & writers of the DID genre, and many old-school favourites. Although this is basically a research type blog, there may be some occasional "mature" themed comics so, beware of this. Also this blog & is moderated to keep the spam to a minimum. The majority of the images are ones I've personally "rebuilt" from either my own collection or scans found elsewhere on the 'net. Any applicable copyrights belong to the owners and I make no money from them. Also note that this blog is still a work in progress and will be added to as I continue along...

Nancy Drew Cover Perils Pt. 5 Unknown Assailants 2

Here are the other ten covers that deal with Nancy's "unknown assailants". From butcher knives and arrows, to shadows lurking around the corner, the enemy remained used virtually any weapon and remained unseen until it was almost too late...

Here's a spoiler: Book #142 does not allude to what happens inside. In this story the cover only illustrates that Nan and friend are running from something or somebody, in the rain. What they are running from (in the story proper), is a hail bullets as an automatic weapon opens up on the duo! The story takes place in Washington D.C.

Another nice selection
I think my overall fave for this lot is "The Case of the Captured Queen", though I do like "The Case of Capital Intrigue"( Nancy does look good in that"sophisticated"/fancy dress)Like wise "The Wild Cat Crime" ( Again she does look good in that "classic little black dress and sensible shoes")I must add that her location ( apparently on the "Big Cat" habitat / enclosure at a zoo) is rather interesting. The Search for the Silver Persian has a more classic look about it and is good too. Thank you for these postings
