Welcome to the DPL...

Welcome to the Damsel Preservation League or "DPL" for short. Contained herein, you'll find a multitude of damsels of all ages worthy of preservation, as well as many links to current artists & writers of the DID genre, and many old-school favourites. Although this is basically a research type blog, there may be some occasional "mature" themed comics so, beware of this. Also this blog & is moderated to keep the spam to a minimum. The majority of the images are ones I've personally "rebuilt" from either my own collection or scans found elsewhere on the 'net. Any applicable copyrights belong to the owners and I make no money from them. Also note that this blog is still a work in progress and will be added to as I continue along...

Baby Sitter's Revenge

Here's a baby-sitting tale in reverse. The sitter is already bound and gagged before the parents leave! And no-one seems to be worried about what the kids might do. Poor Maryanne here is almost trussed up again as she gets loose from the first tie-up but, she manages to get back at the kids in a round about way. I found this two-page nugget in the "Small Publishers" archive over at the DCM. It's from a book called The Toodles (Field Enterprises Inc. under Argo~March, 1946), which I gathered was an old newspaper strip. Further research may be required. I threw in the cover scan just for reference.

The strip may date back to 1946 but this particular comic is probably from around or after 1954, that was the year the Comics Code Authority was established and the approval seal began appearing on most American comic books.

Thanks for the correction, Marty. Unfortunately, the DCM listed this with no actual publishing date so, I was going by what was printed in the book for reference. This is, no doubt, a reprinted story but from exactly when? My guess is 1955 *shrugs shoulders*
