Welcome to the DPL...

Welcome to the Damsel Preservation League or "DPL" for short. Contained herein, you'll find a multitude of damsels of all ages worthy of preservation, as well as many links to current artists & writers of the DID genre, and many old-school favourites. Although this is basically a research type blog, there may be some occasional "mature" themed comics so, beware of this. Also this blog & is moderated to keep the spam to a minimum. The majority of the images are ones I've personally "rebuilt" from either my own collection or scans found elsewhere on the 'net. Any applicable copyrights belong to the owners and I make no money from them. Also note that this blog is still a work in progress and will be added to as I continue along...

Kitti Kane's Adventures

Here are two short stories from Eneg (Gene Bilbrew), involving his character Kitti Kane. Both stories are four-pagers but chock full of action and damsels in distress (or undress, heh, heh...) First up is "Kitti Kane of the Petticoat Patrol". My old Xerox copies were scanned in on an older scanner some time ago (which was, at the time, on it's last circuit). So, I attempted to "un-blur" them the best I could. Read on, if you can...

And because these are only four-pagers, I've included a second Kitti Kane story, "Flight Fight"...

Teena In Trouble

From Lost Worlds #5 (Literary Enterprises, Inc. under Standard Comics~October, 1952), comes this sci-fi tale of a wee lass in dire peril (and I do mean wee!) And beware of floating head panels!

...one last detail panel...

...but wait! Here's an improved scan of the "gotcha" cover for Lost Worlds #6...

Mary Meets Mercury

I'm posting all three Mary Marvel stories from Mary Marvel #25 (Fawcett~June, 1948), even though the peril for her is rather lacking in the tales, themselves. So, this is for all you "completists" to add to your collection ;) Here's the first story...

Freckles' Gaming Dilemma

In this second tale from Mary Marvel #25, Mary's "cousin", Freckles, becomes the victim in a high-stakes game of chess...or not. I've included the unrelated cover scan at the end...

...how about some detail panels and cover scan?

Bedlam In The Boudoir

Many of my Xerox copies were from very short stories, usually consisting of four pages. The bulk of my collection is from Ruiz, Stanton, Willie & Bilbrew (Eneg) stories. I did a lot of mail ordering in the mid to late '90's from Stanton's own mail order house, up to his passing (which I lamented for quite some time.) Most of the stories that I've lost, I've been able to replace via the 'net but, it's not an easy task. The Xerox copies I still have in my collection are under-going a rescanning and tweaking. More on that, later. Below is a four-pager from Eneg (Gene Bilbrew), that introduced his "Wickett Twins". I'm not sure of the year of publication. This is the only known work of the twins that I have. Anyone with links to more materiel involving them, would be greatly appreciated.

Captain Bonds' Captured Cuties

More DID mayhem from classic Stanton! Captured and Bound by Captain Bonds. Not sure of the year but probably from the early '60's. More restored Xerox copies from my insane collection. Ten chapters.
