Welcome to the DPL...

Welcome to the Damsel Preservation League or "DPL" for short. Contained herein, you'll find a multitude of damsels of all ages worthy of preservation, as well as many links to current artists & writers of the DID genre, and many old-school favourites. Although this is basically a research type blog, there may be some occasional "mature" themed comics so, beware of this. Also this blog & is moderated to keep the spam to a minimum. The majority of the images are ones I've personally "rebuilt" from either my own collection or scans found elsewhere on the 'net. Any applicable copyrights belong to the owners and I make no money from them. Also note that this blog is still a work in progress and will be added to as I continue along...

Josie's Advert Peril

Hostess Cupcakes, Twinkies and Fruit Pies. Gotta love 'em. Or not. But combine a bit of distress or peril and it's a "win-win" for DID fans. Like these two that feature Josie getting her just desserts but only after being put in "harm's" way. The first one here is from an advert I found in Sabrina #67; inside front page (ARCHIE MUSIC CORP~June, 1981), while the second one is from a back cover from Betty and Veronica #289 (1st series, CLOSE-UP, INC.~January, 1980). Call them lame but, using one's imagination, things could've taken different turns. Enjoy these nice, big scans :)

But wait! I'm not finished! Since I didn't want to do another short post, I'm including the first two pages (and really, the only ones that matter, here) of a Melody Jones "filler" story, from Josie and the Pussycats #68 (RADIO COMICS, INC.~April, 1973), which features a few innuendos and done strictly for laughs ;) And hey, it's Melody, heh, heh...
